Mr. Steimle is a partner with significant litigation experience. Since joining the firm in 1999, he has represented clients in California state and federal courts in a variety of complex litigation, including pharmaceutical, antitrust, toxic tort, and asbestos lawsuits.
Representative Matters
Antitrust
Mr. Steimle currently represents AstraZeneca LP in a California state action by pharmacies alleging a price-fixing conspiracy among manufacturers of brand name drugs in violation of the Cartwright Act and California's Unfair Competition Laws.
Pharmaceutical
Mr. Steimle successfully defended The Dow Chemical Company in numerous product liability actions in which it was alleged to be the successor to a manufacturer of the Salk polio vaccine. Mr. Steimle prepared and argued successful pleadings challenges that led to the statewide dismissal of plaintiffs’ claims.
Mr. Steimle also successfully represented SmartHealth Inc. in the defense of the latex glove product liability cases in California.
Lead Paint Litigation
Mr. Steimle currently represents American Cyanamid Company in a lead paint product liability and nuisance lawsuit prosecuted by several cities and counties in California.
Toxic Tort
Mr. Steimle represents D Aircraft Products, Inc. in product liability claims based upon alleged exposure to benzene.
Asbestos
Mr. Steimle represents Chevron U.S.A. Inc., Cytec Engineered Materials Inc., The Dow Chemical Company, American Cyanamid Company, Fiberite Inc., Texaco Inc., Unocal Corporation, and Rhodia Inc. in asbestos product liability and premises liability actions throughout California.
Commercial Litigation
