Mr. Long is a senior associate with extensive litigation experience representing international companies in product liability, toxic tort, and commercial matters. He has represented a breadth of clientele from large corporations coordinating their United States litigation to smaller companies seeking efficient results in local California litigation.
Representative Matters
Toxic Tort and Asbestos
Mr. Long is currently part of a team litigating a variety of complex toxic tort matters for several Fortune 500 companies. He has successfully obtained summary judgment of numerous lawsuits through the novel application of different areas of law, including a recent case where he obtained summary judgment under federal maritime law.
Product Liability
Mr. Long has extensive experience in representing automobile, sports equipment and other manufacturers in defending product liability claims across the United States. These matters involve a range of issues from complex airbag design issues to warnings issues relating to the use of weightlifting equipment. He was a member of the litigation team that successfully defeated several plaintiffs’ efforts to obtain class certification against a major automobile manufacturer.
Commercial
Mr. Long has represented large corporations, general contractors, small businesses and individuals in both prosecuting and defending contract and other commercial claims throughout California in both state and federal courts. He has obtained dismissals of matters varying from claims for breach of service contracts to claims for construction damages. He has also successfully arbitrated construction contract claims and obtained attorneys fees for his clients. |
